Frank Turano-Cutler, L.Ac.

has owned and operated Healing Path Acupuncture since 2012 and has been voted Best of the Boat Acupuncturist since 2014. He is certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and licensed in the state of Colorado through DORA. He studied Chinese Medicine at Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City, and Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver where he completed his Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tri-State focuses on Meridian Style acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Japanese acupuncture, and trigger point release. The predominant focus at CSTCM is on TCM. Frank draws upon the strengths of both schools, and has the ability to balance a Meridian Style with TCM. Frank worked extensively with Dr. Jon Freckleton, D.O., at Aspire Wellness in Steamboat Springs, CO. During his time with Dr. Freckleton, Frank learned Medical Acupuncture, a meridian style of acupuncture with electrical stimulation (e-stim.) He was exposed to working in an office where there was a balance of East and West treatment philosophies. Currently, Frank studies and practices Esoteric Acupuncture under Dr. Mikio Sankey, Ph.D, L.Ac., since 2013.

What to Expect at Treatment

At your first appointment, please arrive about 10 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Then we will head to the treatment room to discuss your case. I will give you a brief overview of treatment philosophies and what we will do during treatment after you describe your alement. I will have you lie on the treatment table to check your chakras and determine what pattern will be used. A chakra is an energetic disc/orb/wheel that lies in your electromagnetics and transmits and acquires energy from the cosmos to your body and is said to hold information from past life experiences. In my practice, the concern does not surround which chakra may be balanced or unbalanced at time of treatment, but how many are balanced. That number will lead me into what treatment pattern to use. Once the pattern has been established, I will excuse myself from the room in order to offer privacy while one prepares for acupuncture. Often, one will have to remove their shirt for acupuncture, especially if they are face down. If you are face-up, I will not require anyone to remove their shirt. Bring a pair of shorts or loose-fitting pants. Female clients can bring a tank top or camisole. I have shorts at the clinic if anyone needs them. First, the Esoteric Acupuncture, or Meridian style acupuncture pattern will be placed on your body. Then, I will focus on any local pain areas, such as, low back, neck, shoulder, hips, knees, ankles, etc. Once the needles are in place, you will lay on the table for the remainder of the treatment. Most people start to feel really relaxed, many fall asleep, but if you are feeling nervous I will do my best to place you at ease. If I have time and upon client’s request, I may be able to stay in the room for the later portion of the treatment. After about 30 to 40 minutes, I will come back in the room to remove the needles, and then leave so you can get dressed. During the acupuncture treatment, I may use an Esoteric Pattern, a Meridian style pattern with or without electrical stimulation, needle trigger points, motor points, all to help you gain the most relief available during your session. For the majority of treatments, I use Esoteric Acupuncture because it has such a profound effect on pain, has a detoxifying effect, and revives the spirit.

Treatment Philosophies

There are many layers involved in a person’s dysfunction. We will discuss the spiritual/emotional, internal medicine, and physical layers of your ailment. The possible metaphysical reason(s) for your complaint will be highlighted. There will be discussion surrounding Chinese Medicine organ harmony theories. We will also address inflammation, ways to strengthen the intestines, cleansing, and dietary changes. These factors and your energetics will determine the proper Chinese Medicine and/or Esoteric Acupuncture treatment protocol. At Healing Path Acupuncture, I believe that each individual has a unique healing path. It is my job to determine an appropriate treatment strategy for my clients. What works for you will not always work for another. I also have a passion to treat the spiritual/emotional side of conditions. There comes a time in one’s life where the protection mechanisms we have in place no longer serve us. There may be a desire to grow emotionally and spiritually, but patterns from our past may hinder our growth. That is where Esoteric Acupuncture can come in to help remove outdated protection mechanisms. I recommend that individuals wanting to have these Esoteric Acupuncture treatments have a support system in place. Having a therapist to talk to can help ease any stirred up emotions after an acupuncture treatment. I can refer or recommend a therapist such as a licensed social worker, psychologist, shaman, or an intuitive healer. One can also carry crystals with them throughout their day to help open and nourish different chakras.

Esoteric Acupuncture

Because most of our issues start in a finer frequency realm before they manifest physically, the main focus of my practice is using esoteric acupuncture to treat the heart, spirit, and emotions, giving clients access to their higher heart centers, higher self, and greater good. Alongside esoteric acupuncture, I will also address any internal medicine organ imbalances and physical pains.

Testimonials

  • “My observations are as follows: Check in was very easy and Frank was welcoming and friendly. The process was smooth and efficient. This was my first acupuncture experience and all procedures were clearly explained. The process itself was painless and very interesting. I enjoyed how Frank was very thorough in his questions on my medical history and incorporated an element of mindfulness and emotional health/understanding in providing his services. The result was more than expected – I experienced a ‘release’ in my neck that was very helpful. I plan to return regularly for continued treatment.”

  • ”My journey started with Frank back in the Summer of 2014 when I tore my rotator cuff. I went to him weekly as he worked me through the issues with my shoulder, little to know it was deeper than just the injury. After that, I was hooked to acupuncture and all of its benefits. I suffer from eczema and gut issues and Frank has helped me through and showed me Chinese herbs, detoxes, megaspore, and many more. Most weeks I have no flare-ups with my eczema and my digestion/gut is under control. My life would not be the same if I have not met Frank and introduced acupuncture into my life. I have been seeing Frank for almost seven years this summer 2021 and will continue to do so. I would recommend Frank to anyone who is looking for deeper healing to their body inside and out!”

  • ”For me the word guru rings true. My experience thru the years with frank has been incredible. Being a reiki master myself, mixing with Frank’s energy has been almost magical. He has done wonders for me. Do yourself a favor, go see Frank.”

  • ”I've been a client with Dr. Frank (my nickname for him) for several years. Among the myriad of things he has looked after like my shredded rotator cuff, my broken ankle, diet and my emotional state, Dr. Frank has been there for it all. There is no secret to why he repeatedly wins 1st place acupuncturist in Best of the Boat. Book a session, relax and enjoy.”

  • "When I first heard about Frank it was through my younger sister who has had eczema her whole life and has always struggled with her diet. Frank had clearly been helping her on multiple levels and it interested me. Personally, at the time I was struggling with insomnia and shoulder pain terribly and was considering giving Frank a call. Months went by of me talking about seeing Frank but didn’t make the call. Until one day in March of 2015, my lovely fiance made the call and set up an appointment for me. After that first appointment, all aspects of my life changed. My shoulder pain has been managed and dealt with. My insomnia is mainly caused by my work life but Frank has given me the tools to have more control over it. I never thought before that first appointment that my mind, body, and spirit would truly be changed by seeing Frank, but they all have been and for the best. I can’t imagine leaving Steamboat because I can’t leave Frank. I see him regularly and don’t see my life without him being a part of it. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, am grateful for him and all he has done for me. One’s life will be forever touched by Frank and his passion for esoteric acupuncture."
